Still in the courtyard
Translucent figure seen
Sullen
Restless feet barely touch blunted blades of grass
Rhythmically, the trees inhale,
Woman's icy breath exhales
A clock bewitches the night
Lulling the square-cut gardens to sleep
Stone-laden walks
Edged with iridescence-
A light
An untouchable reflection
Seemingly a space between burned brick wall
And blue plated glass opens
The wraith pushes through
Corridors now vacant echo lightly
Ancient screams caress tattered tapestries
They rest on pale, placid faces
A metallic slice
Sickening thump
Pulse subsides
Nightly encore:
An archaic tale retold
Her blood-lined silhouette forever chained
Weighted with regret
