Jungle Gym

Climb through metal limbs,
Swing on rings over cushioned concrete
Two-step stairways and gangways
Wandering hilly parkways
Woman, dog, tennis balls, see-through trees
Brief encounter passing on the breeze
Momentarily
White dogs circle scampering squirrels
Down steps and bricks
Playing with fresh fallen sticks
February air sedates sound
Wander meander look away
Up tree tops and tower tops
Anywhere
But your eyes
Which admire, compliment, desire
Pockets tuck hand's frigid fingers
Jackets standing again, keys, woolen palm
Glove-wrapped coffee cup
We talked of nothing much
Not unhappily maybe merely
Another partial parting
Should have filled with a kiss
